A.A. 2006/2007 Abstract: After reviewing several proposed theoretical models defining the general dynamics of meaning and syntactic processing, preliminary results are shown of a study on the effect of emotive states on language processing, based on the recording of event-related potentials (ERPs), a research methodology based on the statistical analysis of data coming from electroencephalogram (EEG) in concurrence with linguistic stimuli. The study encourages the idea that language processing is closely tied to our cognitive system.
